Holidays??

Holidays are here! YAY!
but...
I'm still busy. Not YAY!

Haha. Well, I'm really glad that i don't have to worry about assignments and readings and tests and stuff now. But yet, i'm still worrying about different things - ad hoc jobs, Student Org, research. Guess i made the right decision to not work at a childcare. At least i get to do things outside the routine childcare job.

Ad hoc jobs..
I'm currently a Research Assistant with MOE's Preschool Education Branch. HA! sounds cool eh? All i need to do is to assess K2 children's literacy abilities - such as beginning sounds, phonics. So far so good and i think it's a very good learning experience for me as an early childhood educator! So that's my first part time ad hoc job.
I'm also baby sitting now - so far only one child. Max is his name, daddy from NZ and mummy is Singaporean chinese. He's currently 11 weeks. I started baby sitting him when he was 7 weeks old. So it's been a month. Really interesting so far cause i only make him sleep, feed him, clean him, talk to him, play with him and sing to him. Quite easy so far. The only thing is when he cries and i don't know what kinda cry it is. i always feel very lost and frustrated when that happens. hahah!
I'll also be doing this stunt thing coming friday at city hall! SO EXCITING! all thanks to Eddie - my sec 3 camp instructor. Can't believe i still keep in contact with him after 6 long years. haha. Well, i won't say much about this. No pay at all but it's gonna be great fun! AGENT MA-DE-LINE reporting for duty, SIR! haha!
p.s. please read MADELINE as MA-DE-LINE, the little girl who lives in an orphanage with 11 other little girls with a nun. The one who leaves the old house at half past nine in two straight lines. love this cartoon to bits!

Student Org..
Hmm, what can i say about this? haha. Well, it's not as easy as i thought. As i look at my calendar, 2 to 3 days of my week is filled with meetings with regards to SO. Meeting with committees, meetings for L2L... The list goes on. The more tiring thing to do is the follow-up. Always easy to plan but hard to execute. So YI EN, AZA AZA FIGHTING! ha! hmm, I'm slowly finding it hard to serve as the work load comes in. Hard because i had hoped for more ppl to serve along side with Sya, Hong and myself. I really understand if ppl say the have other commitments cause i face the same thing too. Well, as i shared with my yam dg, i guess i should be thankful and content with the current number of ppl who are in the committees. I am particularly encouraged by chiok! Really warmed my heart to know that there are ppl who support with words and actions! Anyway, really pray that God will sustain me and teach me humility and patience as i serve my fellow learners at Wheelock.

Research..
This is really interesting. Stressful too. Vic and i will be going in a childcare to conduct our research on involving children in settin up the library corner. I am pretty excited about it cause i wanna prove our that involving children in everything does motivate them to learn! so anyway, we had meetings with our lecturers and boy, was it tough! They kept changing some of our stuff, though not that drastic. I just don't like how she is so forceful and accusing about things when actually she's the one who keeps changing our stuff. For example, she's the one who came up with our research topic cause she thought ours was too long and too "mouthful". Then she could tell us weeks later that the topic she changed into was not good. And she "accused" us for coming up a bad research topic. HA! how strange. Oh well, can't really be bothered to argue with her about it also. Not like it'll make any difference right? All those aside, i'm still excited about this. Though i know the process will be so rushed and tiring! well, AZA AZA FIGHTING again!

Well, i guess that's all my life is right now. Full of activities, responsibilities and stuff.. Hope i'll have time for family, friends, ben and myself. Trying to be discipline with my QT now. YI EN! you can do it! btw, i have stopped running for a week now. need to pick it up again or i won't continue.
